Marius Stravinsky reunites with Karelia Philharmonic for a special performance on ice
Marius Stravinsky will travel to Kondopoga to reunite with the Karelia Philharmonic Orchestra, where he was the Chief Conductor and Artistic Director from 2007 to 2012, making him the youngest conductor in Russia to hold such a post. The reunion will take form in a very special performance, performing Stravinsky’s Firebird in an unlikely venue: Kondopoga’s Ice Palace. They will be joined by a team of figure skaters, who are all prize winners from the local ice skating centre. The event will be dedicated to Igor Stravinsky’s 135th birthday.
