Hugh Wolff steps in at short notice to conduct Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra at their first subscription concerts of the year, on 13, 14 and 15 January at Frankfurt’s Alte Oper. Hugh has been a Principal Conductor of this orchestra for nine seasons since 1997 and on this occasion he will be replacing Paavo Järvi, the orchestra's current Conductor Laureate. He will be leading the orchestra in a programme featuring Sibelius’ 5th Symphony and Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto with Jörg Widmann as soloist. The programme of the last two concerts will open with Messiaen’s ‘L’ascension’. Further to the performances, Hugh will be giving interviews on the radio as well as on ARTE Concert. In addition, he will be appearing on stage on pre-concerts talks. All three performances will be recorded, while there will be a live broadcast on the radio as well as a live web-stream on ARTE Concert hr-online of the final concert on 15 January.
