ICA is delighted to welcome Maxim Rysanov to its artist roster for worldwide general management. Recognised as one of the world’s best and most charismatic viola players, Maxim is regularly invited to perform as both violist and conductor worldwide. He is a past recipient of the Gramophone Young Artist of the Year and the BBC New Generation awards, as well international competitions and Grammy nominations.

Among his many high-profile performances, he has appeared as a soloist at the world-famous Last Night of the Proms, Great Mountains, Tran Siberian, Edinburgh and Salzburg Festivals. His concerto highlights include Mariinsky Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, Deutsche Symphonie Orchester Berlin, Danish Radio Orchestra, Hungarian National Philharmonic, Moscow Philharmonic, Orquesta de Castilla y Leon and the Basel Symphony Orchestra. Conducting engagements include the Russian National Orchestra, Spanish Radio Orchestra (RTVE), La Verdi Orchestra Milan, Basel Symphony Orchestra, and the London Mozart Players in recent seasons.

Maxim’s strong interest in new music is evident in his premieres of new works and commissions by many composers, including a new viola concerto by Peteris Vasks: he recently conducted the Russian premiere of the Piano Concerto by Benjamin Yusupov.
