Jacek Kaspszyk conducts the Warsaw Philharmonic orchestra at the inaugural concert of the 17th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition

Jacek Kaspszyk, artistic director of the Warsaw Philharmonic, will be leading the inaugural concert of the 17th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition on October 1st which will be the orchestra’s opening concert for this season. The performance will feature Martha Argerich and Nelson Goerner performing the piano concertos by Schumann and Paderewski respectively. The program will also include Krzysztof Penderecki ’s Polonaise for symphony orchestra, a work commissioned by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute especially for this inaugural concert.

In addition, Jacek Kaspszyk will be performing with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR) at the third and final inaugural concert of the competition in Katowice, alongside Martha Argerich with works by Beethoven and Mussorgsky. The performance will be broadcast by Polish Radio 2.
