Marius Stravinsky reunites with the Karelia Philharmonic in Petrozavodsk, Russia

Marius Stravinsky will make a special return to the Karelia Philharmonic in Russia, where he was the Music Director from 2007 until 2012. Now, the Maestro reunites with the orchestra in Petrozavodsk to premiere Philip Glass’ Violin Concerto No 1, performed alongside Ravel’s “Tzigane” Gypsy Rhapsody and Haydn’s Symphony No 60. The orchestra will be joined by the wonderful violinist Ilya Gysin. The concert will take place on 18 May 2017 at the Karelian State Philharmonic Hall, and will be part of the International Onega Classic Festival.
