Yi-Jia Susanne Hou to perform and record with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and John Nelson

13 Oct 2016

Chinese Canadian violinist Yi-Jia Susanne Hou travels to London to perform with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor and fellow ICA artist John Nelson. On 23 October at Cadogan Hall, Susanne launches her major project with the orchestra, performing The Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto by Chen Gang/He Zhanhao, one of the most famous modern works of Chinese music. Further works to be presented on the evening include Saint-Saëns’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, Berlioz’s Le Corsaire Overture and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9. The concert, which will be recorded live, will be released on CD in autumn 2017, coinciding with a major tour in China and Canada. For further information on the concert, please see the orchestra’s website.
