SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg in Monte-Carlo

April 2011 - April 2011

SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg will perform in April at the Monte-Carlo annual Spring Arts Festival.  Under direction of Maestro Michael Gielen the Orchestra will present a programme of Austrian contemporaries – Gustav Mahler and Arnold Schoenberg.  The soloists Christiane Iven (soprano) and Hanno Műller-Brachmann (baritone) will lead in the selection of songs from Mahler’s Des Knaben Wunderhorn, followed by Schoneberg’s Verklärte Nacht during the second half of the concert.  This is going to be the first appearance of SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg in Monte-Carlo and they will be the only foreign orchestra visiting the Festival.
