Before joining ICA, Lorna ran her own boutique agency Music Inter Alia (MIA) which she set up in 2002 to provide general management for a select group of artists including Maxim Rysanov, Alexander Sitkovetsky, Alexei Ogrintchouk and Ashley Wass. A holistic management approach included elements of PR and promotion, fundraising, touring and project management. Her background prior to setting up MIA includes festival and project management (Berliner Festspiele, Capital of Culture Festival, City of London Festival), orchestra touring (European Union Youth Orchestra, Konzertdirektion Schmid, Harrison Parrott), and music and arts PR (including Deutsche Grammophon centenary, re-launch of the Grove Dictionary of Music and the National Galleries of Scotland etc). She is a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now the RCS) and the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe, majoring in oboe. She also studied International Relations in Strasbourg. After a break of several years, she is now once again active as an oboe and cor anglais-player. Other interests include travel and languages.
