Stephen studied Modern Languages and Law at the University of Cambridge, where he admits to having spent more time in the theatre than in the library...  Reflecting this, after leaving university he co-founded and toured the Oxford & Cambridge Shakespeare Company, before following his passion for music by setting up and running the European office of American concert management agency Shawconcerts.  After this, Stephen joined Harold Holt, later becoming joint-Managing Director, where he managed conductors such as Jansons, Temirkanov, Marriner, Gardiner, Bychkov and Ozawa.  In 1991, he left Harold Holt with his division, founding IMG Artists Europe as Managing Director.  Whilst at IMG Artists, he also set up the BBC Legends CD label and produced a number of television documentaries such as ‘Art of Conducting’, etc.  Stephen founded ICA in 2008, and in his spare time enjoys theatre, films, cricket and fine wines.
